Prominent Leaders Inaugurate Smart Classrooms And Champion Equal Opportunities For Rural Students
PUNE (India CSR): In a major push toward fulfilling the National Education Policy (NEP) guidelines, the Pune Zilla Parishad (ZP) is rapidly transitioning its schools into high-tech digital learning hubs. In a recent milestone for rural education, several digital classrooms were officially inaugurated in the Baramati tehsil of Pune district.
The initiative, aimed at bridging the digital divide, has been made possible through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnership with global technology leader BMC Software India and implementation partner Thinksharp Foundation.
High-Profile Inauguration in Baramati. The high-tech classrooms were officially dedicated to the students in a high-profile event attended by prominent leaders and dignitaries, including:

- Smt.Sudha Murty, Acclaimed Author, Philanthropist, and Padma Awardee,
- Smt.Swati Maliwal, Rajya Sabha M.P.

During the event, the dignitaries emphasized how access to modern infrastructure can unlock the potential of rural students, allowing them to compete on equal footing with urban peers.
Interactive Tools, Reimagining Rural Education – The newly deployed digital classrooms feature state-of-the-art smart interactive panels designed to completely replace traditional blackboards. These panels bring multimedia digital content directly into the daily curriculum, making complex lessons easier to grasp.
Partnership Offers Scalable Model For Transforming Public Education Through Technology And Collaboration
According to Pune ZP officials, the interactive features are proving to be immensely impactful. Teachers can now use rich visual aids, educational software, and interactive quizzes, resulting in higher student engagement and better retention.
Honoring the Architects of Change, to recognize the private-public synergy driving this transformation, key leaders behind the CSR project were felicitated during the ceremony. Santosh Phad, Founder of Thinksharp Foundation, and Chaula Diwanji, Head of Corporate Citizenship and Impact at BMC Software India, were honored by the dignitaries for their dedicated contribution toward uplifting rural education infrastructure.
With Pune Zilla Parishad aiming to scale this model across every school under its jurisdiction, this partnership serves as a benchmark for how corporate tech resources and grassroots NGOs can work together to reshape the future of public education.
