Mobile Ki Dukaan Platform Helps India’s Small Mobile Shops Get Discovered on ChatGPT and AI Search – at Zero Cost

JAIPUR: As ChatGPT crosses 198 million users in India and captures nearly 74 per cent of the country’s AI search traffic, a quiet shift is underway in how Rajasthan buys its next smartphone. People in Jaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bikaner – and even in the villages of Shekhawati, Marwar, and Mewar – are no longer typing queries into Google and scrolling through ten blue links. They are asking an AI, in plain Hindi or Marwari, “Mere paas sabse accha phone Rs 20,000 ke andar kaunsa hai?” – and expecting one clean answer back.

For Rajasthan’s neighbourhood mobile shops -the thousands of family-run stores in Vaishali Nagar, Malviya Nagar, and C-Scheme in Jaipur; Vigyan Nagar and Talwandi in Kota; Civil Lines and Vaishali Nagar in Ajmer; Sardarpura and Shastri Nagar in Jodhpur; Hiran Magri and Sector 11 in Udaipur; Jaipur Road and Rani Bazaar in Bikaner – and in every tehsil market from Sikar to Sri Ganganagar, from Alwar to Banswara – this shift is both an opportunity and a threat. Most of these shops have no website, no structured online catalogue, and no way for an AI chatbot to even know they exist, let alone recommend them.

The Mobile Ki Dukaan Platform is on a mission to change that – without charging the shopkeeper a single rupee.

The Problem No One Is Talking About

When a buyer in Jaipur or Jodhpur asks ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity where to buy an iPhone 16 or a Samsung Galaxy, the AI pulls from whatever it can read on the open internet. Big e-commerce players are everywhere online. The corner shop in Ajmer or Kota that has been selling phones for 25 years – often at a better price and with same-day service – is invisible.

“We have seen it happen in front of our eyes,” said a spokesperson for the Mobile Ki Dukaan Platform. “A customer in Jaipur walks into a shop after checking prices on ChatGPT. The AI never mentioned the local dealer in Vaishali Nagar – even though that dealer was cheaper by Rs 2,000 and had the stock right there. That is a sale lost to invisibility, not to competition.”

Mobile shop in Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur for over 28 years, shared his experience on the platform:

“Pehle customer aata tha, phone dekhta tha, chai peeta tha, aur wahi se kharidta tha. Ab wahi customer pehle ChatGPT se poochta hai, phir dukaan aata hai — aur kai baar toh aata hi nahi. Mobile Ki Dukaan Platform par list hone ke baad, mere paas naye customers aane lage jo pehle mujhe jaante bhi nahi the. Meri dukaan ab phone par bhi hai, aur zameen par bhi.”

(“Earlier a customer would walk in, look at the phone, have tea, and buy from the shop. Now the same customer first asks ChatGPT, then visits – and many times doesn’t come at all. After listing on the Mobile Ki Dukaan Platform, I’m getting new customers who didn’t even know my shop existed. My shop is now on the phone, and on the ground.”)

The same story is playing out in Kota, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Bikaner, Alwar, and in every rural mandi across Rajasthan – trusted local dealers with the best prices, losing out to bigger names online simply because the AI cannot see them.

A Free Digital Storefront, Built for the AI Era

The Mobile Ki Dukaan Platform (https://www.mobilekidukaan.in/) is a hyperlocal marketplace built exclusively for mobile and electronics retailers across India, with a deep focus on Rajasthan. The platform has already onboarded over 500 GST-verified local sellers, giving each one a structured digital storefront that lists live inventory, real-time local pricing, shop address, and contact details – exactly the kind of clean, machine-readable data that AI search engines prefer when generating recommendations.

And it costs the retailer nothing to join.

“Our smallest seller runs a ten-foot shop in a village near Nagaur. He speaks Marwari, his son helps with the billing, and his customers have trusted him for 30 years,” the spokesperson added. “Our promise to him is simple — you keep doing what you do best, which is selling phones and building customer trust. The Mobile Ki Dukaan Platform will make sure the AI knows your shop exists.”

Why This Matters Right Now

Recent Statcounter data for March 2026 confirms how dramatic the shift has been. ChatGPT now holds 73.8 per cent of India’s conversational AI search market. Google Gemini sits at 12.56 per cent and Perplexity at 7.91 per cent. Nearly half of all ChatGPT activity in India comes from users aged 18 to 24 — the same young buyers from Jaipur’s colleges, Kota’s coaching hubs, and rural Rajasthan’s government schools who are buying their first and second smartphones.

These are zero-click conversations. The user asks, the AI answers, and the purchase decision is often made right there. If a retailer in Rajasthan is not part of that answer, they are not part of the transaction.

What Small Retailers Get on the Mobile Ki Dukaan Platform

Shops that join the platform receive:

  • A free digital storefront with their shop name, live stock, and local pricing
  • Structured product listings that AI tools and search engines can read and surface
  • Visibility to nearby buyers across Jaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bikaner, and rural Rajasthan
  • No commission on walk-in sales — the shop keeps 100 per cent of its margin
  • Onboarding support in Hindi, Marwari, and other regional languages

“The genius of Rajasthan’s bazaars has always been the same — better price, real human trust, same-day service, and a chai while you decide,” said the spokesperson. “E-commerce could not kill the mobile shops of Tripolia Bazaar or Gumanpura in twenty years. AI will not kill them either — as long as we give these shopkeepers the digital rails they deserve. That is exactly what the Mobile Ki Dukaan Platform was built to do.”

Looking Ahead

The Mobile Ki Dukaan Platform plans to expand to 20,000 verified mobile retailers across India over the next eighteen months – and in the process, build its own data moat for hyperlocal commerce, a segment widely expected to boom over the next five years in mobile and electronics.

The reason is simple and deeply Indian.

We Indians believe in touch-and-feel before we buy. We want to hold the phone, check the weight, see the display in our own hands, and look the seller in the eye before we part with Rs 20,000 or Rs 80,000. That trust has never gone away — not in twenty years of e-commerce, and it will not go away now.

The only real problem for the Indian buyer has been the time wasted hunting for the best local deal – walking from shop to shop, haggling, calling three friends, comparing offers. That is exactly the gap the Mobile Ki Dukaan Platform closes. It brings nearby deals, live stock, and real prices from authorised local partners onto one screen – shops the customer can actually visit, touch the product, and buy from the same day. No blind online gamble. No waiting for delivery. No return hassles.

From the customer’s point of view, it is a win-win – the buyer saves time and gets the best nearby price; the local retailer gets discovered, walk-ins, and a fair share of the sale. From the retailer’s point of view, it is a lifeline into the AI age.

Rajasthan remains a priority state in this roll-out. The focus will be on tier-2 and tier-3 cities like Kota, Ajmer, Udaipur, Bikaner, Alwar, Sikar, Bhilwara, and Sri Ganganagar – along with the state’s vast rural belt, where organised retail has the lowest penetration and trust in the local seller is the highest.

For Rajasthan’s mobile retailer, the message from the platform is clear: the AI age is not something to be feared. It is something to be listed on.
