Women from Hazira and nine nearby villages participated in sports competitions held as part of International Women’s Day celebrations.
NEW DELHI (India CSR): The CSR team of AM/NS India organised a special Women’s Sports Day at Suvali Beach as part of International Women’s Day celebrations, bringing together women from Hazira and nearby villages.
The event was held for the fifth consecutive year to mark the occasion and promote awareness around health and well-being among women. It was organised with the support of the Sports Authority of Gujarat and Navchetan International School, Junagam.
More than 1,000 women took part in competitions such as the 100-metre race, Lemon and Spoon race, Musical Chair, Tug of War and Garba. Winners in different categories were felicitated with prizes.
Women from Hazira and nine surrounding villages participated in the event. The programme also saw the presence of students, sarpanches, local leaders, school staff and government female officials.
The organisers said the event was aimed at encouraging participation in community-based activities while highlighting the importance of fitness and wellness.
This was the fifth straight year in which AM/NS India’s CSR team hosted the Women’s Sports Day. The annual event has become part of the company’s outreach around International Women’s Day in the Hazira region.
The programme focused on engaging women through recreational and competitive activities in an open community setting.
AM/NS India, through its CSR initiatives, has also been running programmes related to women’s empowerment in Hazira and nearby areas. These include training aimed at helping women become self-reliant.
The training support includes courses in tailoring, canteen operations and basic computer skills, according to the information shared by the organisers.
