Through this CSR initiative, Innopay Technologies is helping women from disadvantaged communities learn tailoring skills that enable them to earn income and build financially independent futures.

VIJAYWADA (India CSR): For many women from economically weaker communities, financial independence often remains a distant dream. Limited access to skills, employment opportunities, and resources keeps them dependent on uncertain income sources. Recognising this challenge, Innopay Technologies Pvt. Ltd. has stepped forward with a meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at empowering underprivileged women through skill development.

Through its partnership with Aashritha Charitable Trust, the company has launched the “Empowering Underprivileged Women through Tailoring Skill Development Training Programme”, providing women in Vijayawada and nearby areas an opportunity to learn practical skills and build sustainable livelihoods.

A Skill that Creates Opportunity

The programme focuses on tailoring training, a skill that can be easily transformed into a home-based livelihood. For women who often balance family responsibilities with economic challenges, tailoring provides a flexible and practical way to earn income. Under this initiative, women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families, widows, single mothers, and economically disadvantaged communities are being given structured training. The programme combines practical instruction with hands-on experience to help participants gain confidence in their abilities. For many participants, this training represents more than just learning how to stitch garments. It represents a pathway to dignity, independence, and self-reliance.

A Company’s Commitment to Community Development

The initiative reflects the broader CSR philosophy of Innopay Technologies, which believes that business success should contribute to social progress. Under the leadership of Founder and CEO Puvvada Venugopal Naidu, the company has focused on initiatives that promote women empowerment, sustainable livelihoods, and inclusive community development.

Speaking about the programme, Naidu emphasised the importance of empowering women through education and skills. He recalled Savitribai Phule’s words, “Educating women strengthens families and communities.” According to him, initiatives like this create opportunities for women not only to learn a skill but also to gain the confidence needed to transform their lives.

Training Designed for Real Impact

The training programme will run for two to three months, during which participants will learn tailoring techniques, garment stitching, and basic entrepreneurial skills. The aim is not only to teach technical skills but also to prepare women for self-employment opportunities. By equipping participants with practical knowledge, the programme encourages them to start small tailoring businesses from their homes or within their communities. This approach allows women to generate income while continuing to manage their household responsibilities.

Supporting the First Steps toward Entrepreneurship

One of the most impactful aspects of the initiative is the support provided after training. Upon successful completion of the programme, around 10 deserving women from economically disadvantaged families will receive sewing machines. This support is expected to help them start home-based tailoring services, enabling them to earn a steady income and improve their family’s financial stability. For many women, receiving a sewing machine is not just a gift. It becomes a tool for economic independence and long-term livelihood.

Strengthening Families and Communities

When women gain access to income-generating skills, the benefits extend beyond individual households. Financially empowered women contribute to better education for children, improved household stability, and stronger local economies. Through this CSR initiative, Innopay Technologies is helping build resilient families and empowered communities in Vijayawada. The programme demonstrates how corporate CSR efforts, when implemented through grassroots partnerships, can create meaningful and sustainable social impact.

A Step Toward Inclusive Growth

As India continues to focus on inclusive development, initiatives that promote women’s economic participation play a crucial role in shaping stronger communities. By supporting skill development programmes like this, Innopay Technologies is contributing to a future where women from disadvantaged backgrounds have the opportunity to learn, earn, and lead independent lives. For the women participating in this programme, the journey may begin with learning to stitch a garment. But the real impact lies in stitching together a future of confidence, dignity, and financial freedom.
