Third initiative of DuPont CSR & Safe Water Network India to improve health & hygiene
HYDERABAD (India CSR): In continuance with their vision to provide clean drinking water to school students, DuPont CSR, in collaboration with Safe Water Network India (NGO), today inaugurated a water purification system at the Mandal Parishad Primary School, Manikonda. The facility was inaugurated by Sanjeev Khetarpal, Country President, DuPont India, in the presence of Poonam Sewak, Vice President, Programs & Partnerships, Safe Water Network, India, School Principal Shri Dasharatha Naik, and other officials from the local administration, along with a group of students.
Sanjeev Khetarpal, Country President, DuPont India said, “In line with our vision to provide safe drinking water to all and promote handwash hygiene, we are pleased to support Mandal Parishad Primary School with a water purification system that shall ensure a dependable supply of clean drinking water to about 500 students along with its support staff. Access to clean and safe drinking water has become a major problem over the last two decades, and hence it is imperative that such systems are installed to ensure dependable access. Clean water promotes hydration and attention amongst students, leading to better education outcomes.”

Poonam Sewak, Vice President, Programs & Partnership, said, “We are thankful to DuPont India for supporting us through the years in helping us install and commission water treatment plans and washrooms for students to ensure cleanliness and hygiene, and pledging that school children have dependable access to clean drinking water. This water treatment plant will guarantee that these school children will be free from water-borne diseases and other ailments.”
During the inauguration ceremony, school students presented a skit on personal hygiene, the benefits of clean drinking water, and the moment and methods of handwashing. The students received pamphlets on the subject to further educate them.
In the school, two water treatment plants are installed to produce 200 liters of purified water per hour. The plant has a storage tank capacity of 500 liters. The students are urged to drink clean water at all moments and also fill their water bottles to take water home.
In FY 2025-26, Dupont CSR, in partnership with Safe Water Network India, installed similar systems at Government Primary and High School, Mudfort, and Government Girls High School, Bowenpally, in Hyderabad, and provided a dining hall at Bowenpally Girls School. The organization has also helped in intervention programs pertaining to clean functional toilets and handwash hygiene programs across the country.
