RAIPUR (India CSR): A technical glitch aboard Air India flight AI-2797 left 160 passengers stranded inside the aircraft for nearly an hour at Raipur’s Swami Vivekananda Airport on Sunday night.
The flight, which departed from Delhi at 8:15 p.m., landed in Raipur at 10:05 p.m. without incident.
However, after landing, the aircraft’s door failed to open, causing visible concern among passengers.
Airport engineers were immediately called to the spot, and after nearly an hour of effort, the door was successfully unlocked. Preliminary checks revealed that the malfunction was caused by a failure in the door’s electrical supply system.
Air India has assured that corrective measures will be taken to prevent such occurrences in the future. The airline emphasised that passenger safety and comfort remain its top priorities and expressed relief that all passengers were able to disembark safely.
