NEW DELHI (India CSR): As the World celebrates International Women’s Day on March 8, Sunstone, a leading higher education company of India, reaffirms its commitment to empowering women through education and career development. Over the past six years, Sunstone has empowered more than 3,000 female students and allocated over Rs 10 crores in scholarships to support them. By doing so, Sunstone is actively contributing to closing gender gaps in higher education and employment.

Women from Tier 2 and 3 Cities Advancing in Education

Women from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities of India including Bokaro, Bhagalpur, Bhopal, Firozabad, Jaipur, Shimla, Bageshwar, (Uttarakhand) are making significant strides in professional education, challenging norms, and transforming their aspirations into achievements. Their success stories reflect resilience, ambition, and the power of education, proving that opportunities—when provided with the right support—can lead to remarkable growth.

Sunstone’s Commitment to Women’s Education

Feeling elated by the exceptional achievements of women, Ashish Munjal, Co-Founder and CEO of Sunstone, stated, “At Sunstone, we hold the conviction that education is the most powerful tool for change. The growing participation and success of women in higher education is a testament to their dedication and potential. Our mission is to support and nurture this transformation by offering access to industry-aligned learning, skill development, and placement opportunities.”

Higher Placement and Selection Rates for Women

“The fact that women at Sunstone have a 36.7% higher selection rate in placements, along with an 11.26% higher overall placement rate, proves that when given the right resources, they can achieve remarkable success. On this International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our commitment to making education accessible to women across India, empowering them to break barriers and lead with confidence,” he added.

Women’s Success in Higher Education and Career Growth

Sunstone takes immense pride in seeing its female students not only enrolling in higher education but also excelling beyond their peers in various domains. Their success is reflected in key metrics that underscore their industry readiness, dedication, and career achievements.

  • Higher Selection Rates: Women have a 36.7% higher selection rate than men in placements, demonstrating their growing demand in the workforce.
  • Active Participation: Female students engage 20% more in extracurricular activities, certifications, and Resume Line Items (RLI), enhancing their skills and employability.
  • Strong Commitment: Their average attendance is 9.75% higher than their male counterparts, reflecting dedication and perseverance.
  • Placement Success: Women from the 2023-24 batch have an 11.26% higher placement rate, showcasing their increasing preference among recruiters.

These achievements indicate a positive shift towards gender inclusivity in the workforce, where Sunstone plays a crucial role in grooming female students for leadership and success.

Among female students, MBA/PGDM is the most preferred course, accounting for 45.31% of total enrollments. The enrollment rate for MBA is 67.93% higher than BBA/BBM, the second most chosen course. While B.Tech was introduced in 2022-23, enrollments are expected to rise in the coming years as more women explore technology-driven careers.

In terms of career aspirations, female students show a strong preference for job roles in Human Resources, Finance, and Marketing.

As the higher education landscape evolves, Sunstone remains committed to fostering a future where women not only participate but lead, innovate, and inspire.
