NEW DELHI (India CSR): Paytm (One97 Communications Limited), India’s leading payments and financial services distribution company and pioneer of QR codes, Soundbox, and mobile payments, operates Paytm Foundation, a public charitable trust dedicated to driving impactful philanthropic initiatives. As part of its commitment to financial inclusion and education, Paytm Foundation has partnered with Delhi Technological University (DTU) to launch ‘Wisdom on Wheels’, a mobile learning bus designed to provide computer skills training to underserved students. This initiative aligns with the Government of India’s mission to enhance digital literacy and empower students with essential technological capabilities for the future.

Inaugurated by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education, in the presence of Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Founder and CEO of Paytm, who has contributed in his personal capacity, and Professor Prateek Sharma, Vice Chancellor of DTU, this initiative aims to open new pathways for students.
Providing Computer Skills to Underserved Students
With a deep commitment to empowering the next generation, this initiative provides underserved students with access to essential computer skills through a certified 3-month Basic Computer Course conducted by DTU. The ‘Wisdom on Wheels’ bus will visit schools and community places across Delhi/NCR, reaching students in different regions and ensuring that quality digital training is accessible to those who need it the most. In addition to schools, it will also visit villages, community centers, and other public spaces, creating widespread impact.
Fully Equipped Learning Environment
Designed to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment, the bus is fully air-conditioned and self-power enabled with backup facilities, ensuring uninterrupted learning. Students will receive hands-on training under the mentorship of DTU faculty coordinators, with DTU students and staff acting as resource persons for these educational and social services.
Certification and Future Opportunities
Upon successful completion, students will receive certification, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the digital economy. Additionally, this initiative is expected to enhance digital literacy and learning skills while also creating business and job opportunities for local residents in Delhi/NCR.
