MUMBAI (India CSR): Allcargo Group, a prominent Indian global logistics company, is set to surpass 3,000 scholarships by December 2024 through its Disha program, operated by the Avashya Foundation, its CSR division. With “Disha” meaning “direction” in Sanskrit, the program has been instrumental in financially supporting deserving students, enabling them to chase their academic dreams.
Milestone in Educational Support
Since its inception in 2010, the Disha program has reached over 40,000 students through initiatives like the Disha Scholarship, Disha Careers Seed, and Disha Anando Program. This year, the scholarship drive spans three phases, awarding over 473 scholarships to date, with 2,200 more to be distributed in Mangalore. The program assesses socioeconomic and academic needs, ensuring support reaches those who need it most.
Holistic Student Development
The Disha program goes beyond financial aid, focusing on holistic development. It offers career counseling, skill-building workshops, and mentorship to empower students in making informed decisions. “Our mission is not just about financial assistance but about inspiring students to pursue excellence,” said Dr. Nilratan Shende, Head of CSR at Allcargo Group. “We believe in the philosophy of empowering children to learn and excel in their chosen fields,” he added.
Community-Driven Initiative
The program collaborates with local organizations like Bunts Sangha to broaden its reach. Recently, 1,200 students from Bantwal and neighboring areas received scholarships, promoting inclusivity across communities. Dr. Shende emphasized, “These partnerships amplify our reach and create an environment where education is accessible to all.”
As Allcargo Group crosses the 3,000-scholarship milestone, it reaffirms its commitment to fostering an educated and empowered society, supporting students through financial aid and continuous guidance.
