Bed Occupancy Rates
The average bed occupancy rate across ESI hospitals stands at 46%. Notably, the bed occupancy rate in ESIC-run hospitals is approximately 57%, reflecting higher utilization compared to the 35% occupancy rate in state-run ESI hospitals. This data highlights the disparity in usage and possibly indicates areas for improvement in state-managed facilities.
New Hospitals in West Bengal
The ESI Corporation has approved the establishment of four new 100-bed ESI hospitals in West Bengal. The new hospitals will be located in Darjeeling (Siliguri), Purba Medinapore (Haldia), North 24 Parganas (Garshyamnagar), and Paschim Medinapore (Kharagpur).
