Over 4,500 beneficiaries have received life-saving treatment at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals in the 12 years.

BANGALORE (India CSR): Since their empanelment in the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in 2018, Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals have provided vital, cost-free treatments to over 4,500 children. Operating out of Nava Raipur, Palwal, and Navi Mumbai, the social organization informed that these facilities continue to be a cornerstone for pediatric cardiac care in India.

Hope, Healing, Heart

On Ayushman Bharat Diwas, Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Chain of Hospitals stands as a beacon of hope, offering free treatment to children suffering from Congenital Heart Defects (CHD). With a mission to ensure no child is deprived of essential care, the Hospitals have consistently served the community and advanced the national health agenda.

Hearts Heal Free

Congenital Heart Defects remain a significant concern in India, affecting over two lakh children annually. Many families struggle financially, unable to afford the necessary medical care. Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals, with their three branches (Nava Raipur – Chhattisgarh, Palwal – Haryana, Navi Mumbai, Kharghar – Maharashtra) empaneled under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, have been at the forefront of providing comprehensive and free-of-cost treatment to underprivileged children across the country.

The world is one family

Sri Madhusudan Sai, Founder, Sri Madhusudan Sai Global Humanitarian Mission expressed, “As we commemorate Ayushman Bharat Diwas, let us be reminded of the timeless wisdom encapsulated in the concept of vasudhaiva kuṭumbakam – the profound truth that the world is one family. Just as Lord Rama’s compassion extended to all beings, transcending boundaries and distinctions, and as Lord Krishna exemplified universal love and justice on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, so too must we embrace our interconnectedness and collective responsibility for the well-being of all.”

“In the spirit of these noteworthy episodes of our history and the teachings of the Upanishads, Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani stands as a ray of hope and healing, embodying the ethos of selfless service and compassion. These Centers for child heart care, inspired by the noble ideals of our mythology, serve as sanctuaries where the highest quality medical care is provided freely to those in need, nurturing not just bodies, but spirits and communities.”, the social leader explained.

“On this day, let us recommit ourselves to the welfare of all, recognising that in serving others, we serve our own kin – for in the vast tapestry of existence, every being is interconnected, every heart beats as one.”, he added.

12 Years of Social Transformation

Dr C Sreenivas, Chairman of the Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust remarked, “Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani is built today on 30,000 stories of families with congenital heart diseases from across the world. What started 12 years ago as one hospital is now a Social Transformative Movement, in line with the objectives of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, delivering much more than predicted.

Being a part of this initiative makes me feel honoured and privileged. It not only addresses the high demand for allied healthcare skills and medical and surgical assistance among underprivileged communities in India and abroad, but it also aligns with the Ayushman Bharat’s vision of eradicating socio-economic disparities. I’m excited to keep upholding compassion and living a meaningful life by helping others, so that I can help India become a prosperous and healthy nation.”

Addressing the national burden of CHD

Since its inception in 2012, Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals have tirelessly worked to address the national burden of CHD. With over 257,700 pediatric cardiac outpatients attended and 30,000 surgeries conducted, the Hospitals have been instrumental in saving countless lives and restoring hope to families in need.

Strategic partnerships with State governments

The Hospitals recognise the critical importance of early detection in mitigating the risks of CHD. By means of strategic partnerships with State governments, outreach initiatives, and investigation into the underlying reasons through the research wing of the Hospitals, Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals guarantee prompt identification and medical attention for children. Additionally, community engagement initiatives aim to raise awareness and promote proactive health consciousness, furthering the mission of holistic care.

Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals: Post-operative care

At Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals, every child, regardless of financial status, receives comprehensive treatment until fully healed. Not only do the children receive free medical care, but their parents also receive free accommodation, food, counseling, and post-operative care training. Upholding the ethos of compassion and excellence, the Hospitals remain steadfast in their commitment to providing essential services to all who seek care.

As India strives to achieve its maternal and child health goals, Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals continue their efforts, expanding their reach and impact across geographies, ensuring access to quality healthcare for every pregnant woman and child, the hospitals aim to reach even the most remote areas.
