MUMBAI (India CSR): In celebration of International Women’s Day (March 8th, 2024), BNP Paribas Bank India highlights its commitment to empowering women through skilling and sustainable initiatives.
Manisha Khosla Sinha, Head – CSR, Brand & Communications at the bank, emphasizes the transformative power of skilling young women, especially from marginalized communities.
Bridging the Digital Divide for Women Engineers
BNP Paribas has partnered with Nasscom Foundation to bridge the digital skill gap for women engineering graduates. This program provides training in Python, data analytics, and soft skills, equipping these young women with the tools needed to succeed in the tech industry. Over 300 women have benefited from this initiative, with many securing employment after graduation.
Empowering Women in Rural Communities
Another key partnership is with Industree Foundation under the ‘PROGRESS’ project. This initiative empowers women in the Bamboo and Banana value chains in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, respectively. The project not only creates sustainable livelihoods but also promotes environmental stewardship and social inclusivity within rural communities.
Investing in the Future
These initiatives showcase BNP Paribas’ dedication to fostering inclusive and sustainable growth. By focusing on technology, entrepreneurship, and green industries, the bank aims to not only equip women with skills but also inspire them to become changemakers in their communities. BNP Paribas believes that empowering women is crucial for economic and social progress, and their efforts represent an investment in the brighter future of individuals and entire communities.
