IPL 2024 Lucknow Super Giants (LSG): The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is just around the corner, and the fans are eagerly waiting to see their favorite teams in action. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), one of the newest franchises in the IPL 2024, have revealed their full squad for the upcoming 2024 edition of the tournament. LSG, who made their debut in 2022, have qualified for the playoffs in both their seasons so far. They will be led by KL Rahul, who was retained by the franchise along with 18 other players.

Leadership Duo: Rahul at the Helm, Pooran Takes Up Vice-Captaincy

Leading the charge for LSG is the ever-reliable KL Rahul. Renowned for his elegant strokeplay and astute captaincy, Rahul will be crucial in steering the team’s fortunes. Nicholas Pooran, the explosive West Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, has been appointed as the new vice-captain. Pooran’s aggressive batting and sharp leadership skills will provide valuable support to Rahul.

IPL 2024 Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Team History

The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are one of the newest franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL), having joined the tournament in 2022 along with the Gujarat Titans (GT). They are owned by Sanjiv Goenka, who previously owned the Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) franchise that played in the IPL in 2016 and 2017. LSG are based in Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, and play their home matches at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.

LSG have made a remarkable impact in their first two seasons, qualifying for the playoffs on both occasions. They finished third in the points table in IPL 2022 with nine wins and five losses, and fourth in IPL 2023 with eight wins and six losses. They were led by KL Rahul, who was also their leading run-scorer in both seasons. LSG also had some impressive performers in their squad, such as Quinton de Kock, Nicholas Pooran, Mark Wood, Ravi Bishnoi, and Krunal Pandya.

LSG have retained most of their core players for IPL 2024, while also adding some new faces in the mini-auction held in Dubai on Tuesday. They signed six players, including Shivam Mavi, David Willey, Ashton Turner, Manimaran Siddharth, Arshin Kulkarni, and Mohd Arshad Khan. They also traded in Devdutt Padikkal from RCB, who was the third-highest run-scorer in IPL 2023. LSG have a well-balanced squad with a mix of experienced and young players, as well as domestic and international stars.

LSG will be hoping to improve on their performance from the last season, where they suffered a heartbreaking 81-run defeat to Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Eliminator of IPL 2023. They will be aiming to lift their maiden IPL trophy in 2024 under the captaincy of Rahul, who has been one of the most consistent and prolific batters in the tournament. LSG have shown that they are a force to reckon with in the IPL, and they will be looking to continue their impressive run in the upcoming edition. 🏆
