Reaching Out for a Collective Effort: Ensuring No Stomach Goes Empty

India CSR Exclusive Story

BHUBANESWAR (India CSR): The JSP Foundation, a renowned CSR and social pillar of Jindal Steel & Power, has taken a commendable stride towards eliminating hunger from India. Drawing inspiration from Naveen Jindal, Chairman of Jindal Steel & Power, the foundation is setting its eyes on the horizon with the launch of its expanded Mission Zero Hunger program.

As Naveen Jindal once said, “A nation’s real strength is not just its economy, but the health and happiness of its citizens.“

50 Lakh and Counting

Led by the diligent and determined Shallu Jindal, Chairperson of the JSP Foundation, the initiative has already made significant achievements by distributing over 50 Lakh meals every year. However, their aim doesn’t stop here. With an audacious target of 1 Crore meals annually, the mission is moving ahead with renewed energy and determination.

Ensuring Food for All

Their commitment isn’t just about numbers. It’s about ensuring that the underprivileged, the marginalized, the children, and the women, all get nutritious food. “In a nation as vast and diverse as India, ensuring every person has a meal on their plate is a challenge, but it’s a challenge we are ready to undertake,” commented Smt. Shallu Jindal.

Spreading the Net Wide

In its initial phase, Mission Zero Hunger is targeting specific districts in Odisha, Chhatisgarh, and Jharkhand. This strategic move focuses on regions like Angul, Keonjhar, Sundergarh, and many more, aiming to lay a strong foundation for future endeavors.
