Important Days in October 2023: October is the tenth month of the year and has 31 days. It is a month of festivals, celebrations, and awareness campaigns. There are many important days in October that are observed nationally and internationally. It is the autumnal month in the Northern Hemisphere and the spring month in the Southern Hemisphere. October is named after the Latin word “octo”, meaning “eight”, as it was the eighth month of the Roman calendar. The Roman calendar originally began in March, so October was the eighth month.

October is a time of change in the Northern Hemisphere. The days get shorter and the nights get longer. The leaves on the trees start to change color and fall to the ground. October is also a time for holidays and celebrations. In the United States, Columbus Day is celebrated on the second Monday of October. In Canada, Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October. Shardiya Navratri (October 15-24): This is a nine-day festival dedicated to the worship of the goddess Durga. It is a time for prayer, fasting, and feasting.

Durga Ashtami (October 22): This is the eighth day of Shardiya Navratri and is the most important day of the festival. It is a day to celebrate the victory of Durga over the demon Mahishasura.

Maha Navami (October 23): This is the ninth day of Shardiya Navratri and is also a day of great importance. It is a day to worship the goddess Durga in her nine forms.

Vijayadashami (October 24): This is the tenth day of Shardiya Navratri and marks the end of the festival. It is a day to celebrate the victory of good over evil.

Kojagara Puja (October 28): This is a night-long vigil dedicated to the goddess Lakshmi. It is a time to pray for prosperity and abundance.
