Innovative Eco-friendly Tyres

Introduction

Leading tyre manufacturer in India, Apollo Tyres, has developed sustainable passenger vehicle tyres made from 75% sustainable materials, including bio-based and recycled materials. The tyres also use sustainably sourced natural rubber, supporting the company’s commitment to reducing environmental impact. Apollo Tyres is working towards achieving a 40% sustainable material target by 2030 and being carbon neutral by 2050, and the development of sustainable mobility solutions is a crucial part of this journey.

Using Innovative Compounding Ingredients

The newly developed passenger vehicle tyres, containing 75% sustainable materials, are made with innovative compounding ingredients in different components of the tyres, including bio-based and recycled materials. This approach is aligned with the company’s sustainability goals and supports its commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its products.

Sourcing Sustainable Natural Rubber

Apollo Tyres is also committed to sourcing sustainable natural rubber. The rubber used in these tyres has been sourced from suppliers who have public commitments to sourcing and/or traceable to specific plantations. This is in accordance with the company’s sustainable natural rubber policy and supports the development of a sustainable rubber supply chain.

Clearing Regulatory Performance Requirements

According to P K Mohamed, Chief Advisor, R&D, Apollo Tyres Ltd, the company is confident about the performance of these tyres developed using 75% sustainable materials. The tyres have cleared regulatory performance requirements and will now undergo extensive road evaluation under typical operating conditions. This demonstrates the company’s commitment to ensuring that sustainable tyres meet the same performance standards as traditional tyres.

Sustainable Tyres for a Smoother Ride

The use of eco-friendly tyres is becoming increasingly important, with the aim to reduce the environmental impact of the transportation industry. As a result, manufacturers are now producing tyres that are designed to be more efficient and longer lasting, by using materials such as recyclable rubber or specialised compounds that can reduce fuel consumption. Eco-friendly tyres also provide better grip on wet roads, as well as reduce noise pollution. With these benefits and more, it’s no surprise that eco-friendly tyres are quickly becoming the preferred choice for many drivers.

Working Towards Sustainability Goals

This development is aligned with the sustainability journey of Apollo Tyres and its goal of achieving a 40% sustainable material target by 2030 and being carbon neutral by 2050. By developing sustainable mobility solutions, the company is working towards a more sustainable future and supporting the global transition towards a low-carbon economy.

Eco-Friendly Tyres: Materials, Efficiency, and Performance

Eco-friendly tyres are becoming an increasingly important part of the automotive industry as manufacturers are striving to reduce their carbon footprint. These tyres are made from materials that are more sustainable and offer better performance in terms of fuel efficiency, safety and wear. In addition to this, they help reduce the amount of emissions released into the environment which makes them a great choice for those looking to reduce their environmental impact. With more companies taking steps towards sustainability, eco-friendly tyres will become even more important in the coming years.

Manufacturing in Modern Facilities

These high-performance electric passenger vehicle tyres (Apollo Amperion) and ultra-high performance (Apollo Aspire 4G+) passenger vehicle tyres were manufactured at Apollo Tyres’ Andhra Pradesh plant, which is the company’s latest and most modern manufacturing facility. This demonstrates the company’s commitment to investing in sustainable manufacturing processes and reducing the environmental impact of its operations.

Reducing Environmental Impact

Nowadays, more and more car owners are choosing eco-friendly tyres to reduce their environmental impact. By using eco-friendly tyres, drivers can enjoy a smoother ride while contributing to the environment at the same time. Eco-friendly tyres are made from materials that are sustainable and recyclable, such as organic rubber and recycled rubber. Additionally, these tyres also offer improved performance in terms of fuel efficiency, grip and handling. They also help to reduce road noise levels and tyre wear. In this way, eco-friendly tyres provide an excellent way for motorists to save money while doing their part for the environment.

Sustainable Tyres

Sustainable Tyres refers to tires that are designed to reduce their environmental impact throughout their lifecycle, from raw material sourcing and manufacturing to use and disposal. Apollo Tyres, a leading tire manufacturer, has taken significant steps towards sustainability by incorporating eco-friendly practices in their tire production process. Apollo Tyres has established an environmental management system that includes reducing emissions, reducing waste, and conserving natural resources.

One way Apollo Tyres has achieved sustainability is by using natural rubber in their tires. Natural rubber is a renewable resource that is biodegradable, making it a better choice than synthetic rubber, which is non-biodegradable and derived from petrochemicals. Apollo Tyres has also developed fuel-efficient tires that reduce carbon emissions and help to conserve fuel. Another sustainability initiative of Apollo Tyres is their waste reduction program. The company has implemented various measures to reduce waste, such as using recyclable materials in tire production and reusing scrap rubber in other applications.
