JAIPUR:Vedanta Foundation in line with its philanthropic vision of up lifting the lives of the under privileged, sponsored the recently concluded Jaipur foot camp held at Pandharpur.
The objective behind sponsoring the Jaipur Foot Camp at Pandharpur was to provide a life rehabilitating opportunity to large volume of the physically challenged population especially from the weaker sections of the society.
Pandharpur Yatra happens to be an important ritual among the followers of Lord Vithal in the State of Maharashtra. The event marks a presence of more than 1 million pilgrims commonly known as Warkaris who attend the Yatra travelling from the remotest of the areas in Maharashtra.
The Camp was conducted for 5 days from 26th to 30th June which also happened to be the period of the Pandharpur Yatra thereby fulfilling the objective of the Camp. The Camp distributed Jaipur foot, Calipers and Crutches to the physically challenged people who travelled from the remote areas of Maharashtra. The camp received a overwhelming response from the devotees who had come to visit their lord vitthal through the yatra.
Lives of more than 400 warkaris have been rehabilitated through the Camp.
