As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility, VAL-Lanjigarh conducted the day-long free Health Camp on the occasion of World Health Day.

LAJIGARH: Nearly 400 patients from 36 villages were treated and were distributed medicines at a Health Camp organized at Lanjigarh by Vedanta Aluminium Limited (VAL) in association with Government Health Department on April 7, 2012. As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility, VAL-Lanjigarh conducted the day-long free Health Camp on the occasion of World Health Day.
The Health Camp benefitted a lot of tribal people living in the vicinity of Lanjigarh Block like – Champadeipur, Bandhaguda, Belamba, Balabhadrapur, Jagannathpur, Bundel, Chanalima, Nangalbeda, Kadamguda, Harekrushnapur, Phuldumer, Gaudthuaguda, Leptaguda etc.
Dr. Mukesh Kumar, President & Chief Operating Officer, VAL, inaugurated the health camp and said, “Providing better health care service to the people living in the Lanjigarh periphery is VAL’s prime responsibility.” He also asked the people to come in large numbers to get the benefits of this kind of Health Camps in future.
Also present on the health camp from VAL were Koustav Ratan Kundu – Head HR; Avilash Dwivedi – Head CSR-PR, Niharika Sahu; Sweta Upadhyaya, Sweety Mukherjee, Srimukha Agasty, Bhagaban Hota and G Anuradha.
Along with Dr. Sabita Swain, Dr. Chinky Gupta – Dentist, Dr. Akshya Sahu, Dr. S K Mishra and Dr. Supriti Patra of Vedanta Hospital at Lanjigarh, other specialized govt. doctors were also present on the occasion to treat the patients. Other doctors present on the camp were Dr. Nrusingha Charan Das – Chest & TB specialist from MKCG Medical College, Brahmapur; Dr. Manoranjan Rout – Child Specialist, Muniguda Govt. Hospital; Dr. Nagendra Raj Samant and Dr. Bikash Praharaj of Lanjigarh Govt. Hospital.
VAL, through its medical outreach program, has been providing health care services to people in remote tribal areas who are deprived of healthcare service. The Mobile Health Unit and outreach camp of the company is reaching the unreached and providing health services at door step of tribal people.
