Pfizer CEO Arrested? Fake News

Fake news has been in the news recently, as it was especially prevalent throughout the presidential election and because of the impact it might have had on voters.

Was Pfizer CEO, Albert Bourla, just arrested by the FBI and charged with multiple counts of fraud? Take a look at the viral claim, and find out what the FACTS really are! Social media has gone nuts, with the news that Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla was arrested by the FBI, and charged with multiple counts of fraud! It all stemmed from this Conservative Beaver article that was posted on 5 November 2021.

techarp.com reported that the truth is – Pfizer CEO was NOT arrested by the FBI. Neither was he charged with fraud over the COMIRNATY vaccine. There is also no such thing as #PfizerGate.

This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS about the Pfizer vaccine that was created by a fake news website to generate page views and money from gullible people.

Forbs reported that, do you get your news from a beaver, the Conservative Beaver website, that is? Well, the Canada-based website included a “Beaver Exclusive” claiming that Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla had been arrested on November 5 by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for fraud. The Beaver Exclusive also claimed that the police ordered a “media blackout” of the event and that a judge had approved such an order.

“Dam.” Those are some major yet unsupported claims from the Beaver Exclusive. Unsupported as in there’s no evidence that the arrest or fraud claims are true in any way.

The Beaver Exclusive wasn’t even very specific about their fraud claims, stating that “Bourla faces fraud charges for his role in deceiving customers on the effectiveness of the Covid-19 ‘vaccine.’ Pfizer is accused of falsifying data, and paying out large bribes.” Notice how the Beaver Exclusive put the word vaccine in quotes. As I have covered previously for Forbes, people and social media accounts against Covid-19 vaccines have been claiming that the Covid-19 vaccines are not really vaccines, even though they fulfill the criteria of vaccines. Also, the “exclusive” didn’t really identify who wrote the piece, unless the person’s first name was “Beaver” and last name was “Exclusive.”

The Beaver Exclusive continued by saying, “According to an FBI agent that spoke to the Conservative Beaver, Pfizer lied about the effectiveness of the vaccines, and mislead [sic] customers about the serious side effects the vaccines can produce. Pfizer is accused of paying off governments and the mainstream media to stay silent.”

That’s quite a hairy situation being portrayed by the Beaver. Social media accounts, including numerous anonymous ones, began sharing the Beaver, the Beaver Exclusive that is. For example, there have been posts such as the following on Twitter:

There’s one itty bitty problem with all this Beaver fever, though. The Beaver Exclusive didn’t really provide any actual, you know, facts and evidence to support its claims. What specifically were the lies? Who was bribed and for what reason? Did anyone make any statements besides a nameless FBI agent? Were there any photos or videos of the arrest?

In fact, that same day, November 5, Bourla appeared on different TV programs such as the following segment on CNBC.

As you can see, Bourla didn’t say that he can’t answer any more questions because he’s being arrested. You didn’t see the FBI in the background clearing everything away either.

Dan Evon writing for Snopes has said that the Beaver Exclusive “is not a genuine news article. The Conservative Beaver publishes a mix of news commentary and conspiratorial hoaxes.” This is the same website that has posted pieces entitled “Pilot takes vaccine, suffers heart complications, then crashes plane into ocean”, “Colin Powell died from COVID vaccine, doctor warns: ‘don’t get the shots!’”, and “Biden announces internment camps for unvaccinated people, will open in 2022.” Take a wild guess as to the stance that the The Conservative Beaver is taking on the Covid-19 vaccine.

As far as a supposed “media blackout” is concerned, it is not clear who may have gotten such an order or memo. Anyone who believes that such a media blackout would occur in the U.S. doesn’t understand how legitimate media in this country works. It would be very difficult for anyone to suppress a big story like a major public figure getting arrested or a vaccine having a major side effect. Nearly every legit reporter would be scrambling to be the first to get such news out there if it had really occurred. Was claiming that there was a “media blackout” a way of justifying why this news was just in Beaver, meaning just in a Beaver Exclusive?

Certainly, it is important to keep an eye on what pharmaceutical companies may be doing. For example, during the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, pharmaceutical companies have been criticized for not making the Covid-19 vaccines more available to lower income populations, especially after receiving substantial funds from the government to further develop and distribute the vaccines. Financial negotiations between the Trump Administration and pharmaceutical companies in 2020 could have been more transparent as well.

Questions about the pharmaceutical industry clearly pre-dated the pandemic. Rising drug prices have been a continuing concern. So has decreased investment into research and development compared to what’s going into the marketing of existing drugs. Then, there are the drug commercials on TV that may convince you that you have various medical problems and list the side effects of a medication as if they’re the end credits to the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Ironically, a big concern was the pharmaceutical industry neglecting preventive measures such as vaccines and focusing too heavily on “lifestyle medications” such as Viagra with higher profit margins. Additionally, as I have written before for Forbes, concerns have arisen about the contaminants in medications.

However, keeping an eye on companies doesn’t mean “make bleep up” just to discredit vaccines. The Covid-19 vaccines have undergone much more scrutiny than many other products from pharmaceutical, supplement, and other “health product” companies. So the focus on anti-vaccination accounts on vaccines rather than a broader array of medications and supplements is odd.

Looks like this Beaver Exclusive may have been all wet. There is currently no real evidence of a Bourla arrest or a subsequent “media blackout.” You also may want to be careful about where you put your click when it comes to this Beaver Exclusive.

In general, when seeing anything on social media or the Internet being posed as news, check the sources. Make sure that it is a legitimate news outlet before you leave it to a Beaver Exclusive.
