Hindustan Zinc organized health awareness programs at various places in the units on World Heart Day under the health service project to sensitize the community around its units. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is responsible for nearly half of all NCD deaths. Mobile health van teams at Agucha, Kayad, Jawar and Chanderia locations arranged sessions in nearby villages. The beneficiaries involved in these events were of all age groups.
It should be noted that the events included importance of healthy heart, about right diet to stay fit and healthy, relationship of regular exercise and healthy heart, side effects of tobacco on heart, monitoring of blood pressure after 30 years to avoid heart disease, Various types of heart diseases and how they can be prevented, regular health check-ups after 40 years to stay healthy and importance of fiber in regular diet to reduce the chances of heart attack etc.
Hindustan Zinc has taken initiative to provide primary health facilities in nearby villages under CSR. By providing medical facilities in the health van, the people of the villages and especially the people of the rural areas are benefitted by the medical health van facility as per the need.
The company is always committed to the upliftment of the society along with its production work. Hindustan Zinc is benefitting the areas around its campus by running special schemes which will be continued in future also.
