CSR: Quick Heal takes the next public-spirited step, donates Arogya Yan – a Mobile Clinic to SRM Hospital

CHENNAI: Delivering on its mission of ‘Securing Futures’ through selfless philanthropy, Quick Heal Foundation, the CSR arm of Quick Heal Technologies Limited, has made a generous donation in the form of Arogya Yan to SRM Hospital, Kattankulathur, Chennai.

Arogya Yan is a state-of-the-art Mobile Clinic designed to transport patients from far-flung zones while also delivering healthcare services like diagnosis, treatments, and routine check-ups.

The foundation has collaborated with Puthiya Thalaimurai Foundation, one of the largest NGOs in India organizes medical camps in rural areas like eye testing, dental care, cardiac, skin disorder, ortho care, cancer prevention & awareness for those who are needy & have no access to quality medical care.

The donation ceremony was held in the presence of esteemed guests and dignitaries Anupama Katkar, Chairperson, Quick Heal Foundation and, Dr. Kailash Katkar, MD & CEO, Quick Heal Technologies Limited, Dr. M. Logaraj from Hospital, and D. V. Venkatagiri from PT Foundation.

Aiming to serve more than 60,000 people

With this initiative, Arogya Yan aims to serve more than 60,000 people every year in nearby villages such as Chettipunniyam, Villiambakkam, Sasthirapakkam, Mettutheru and Veerapuram.

Started in January 2021, Arogya Yan is part of Quick Heal’s larger CSR vision towards improving healthcare services in India’s rural heartland. It will serve as a huge medical support system for doctors to treat patients by providing basic healthcare facilities.

It can also be modified into a mobile clinic unit, giving patients a clean and hygienic environment for diagnosis and treatment. The Yan can also be used for storage and seamless dispensing of medicines. The local communities and people are already thrilled about its arrival as they have high hopes for an entirely refurbished and mobile medical facility.

Healthcare Services for remotest geographical locations and villages

Quick Heal Foundation, Chairperson, Anupama Katkar, said “We are committed to doing our bit for the society. Especially after the horrendous period we countrymen faced together against an unprecedented global pandemic, it has become far more crucial to elevate the standard of medical infrastructure. In this context, we along with SRM Hospital and PT Foundation have extended a helping hand. Laced with the latest medical equipment, the Arogya Yan can reach even the remotest geographical locations and villages.”

“The van is specially designed to meet the transportation and communication needs of destitute patients, who more often than not succumb to their illness due to poor medical infrastructure or delayed treatment. Tailored to work as a mobile medical clinic and as a means of medical transport, we are sure Arogya Yan will help the needy people from surrounding villages and communities to avail the basic medical facilities with ease and comfort.”, she added.

We are pleased to work with the great couple Dr. Kailash Katkar and Madam Anupama Katkar who is a living example of such a lofty ideal. We salute the “Katkars” and Team Quick Heal who are from the land of great souls – Chhatrapati Shivaji and Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. The Mobile Clinic is a great opportunity to serve the needy more and more.

Quality healthcare to communities

Dr. M. Logaraj, Dean, Students Affairs, SRM Hospital & Medical College & Research Centre said “A hospital on wheels initiative: providing a free medical camp for the rural population of chengalpattu and Kancheepuram district was Flag of by Dr. B. Baranidharan, Deputy Director of Health Services Government of Tamil Nadu Chengalpattu. The mobile clinic initiative will help to provide health care to the communities and provide health care to 60,000 population coming under Chengalper and Kanchepuram district covering the rural blocks Kattankulathur, Walajabad, Uttiramerur and Madhuranthagam.
