The NTPC-Lara Mega Community Development Programme continues to set an example in promoting sports and holistic community development, contributing significantly to nurturing the potential of rural talent in Chhattisgarh.
RAIGARH (Chhattisgarh): The Second NTPC Chhattisgarh State Lacrosse Championship was successfully organized at NTPC-Lara as part of its Mega Community Development Programme. This initiative aimed to promote sports and encourage rural youth to participate in national and international lacrosse competitions.
The championship, held under the auspices of the CG Lacrosse Association of Chhattisgarh, saw the participation of 160 players across various teams, including a dedicated team of 40 members. The event was graced by NTPC dignitaries, including G.C. Chauksi, NTPC Business Excellence Quality Champion, Radhesh Sharma, and Abdul Riyaaz Khan, along with other senior officials such as Jakir Khan (AGM-HR), Vinay Jaiswal (AGM-EEMG), and Manv Bandhu (AGM-MTP).
Selection for National Lacrosse Tournaments
The event also served as a platform for team selection for the National Junior-Senior Girls and Boys Lacrosse Tournament, scheduled to be held in Rajasthan in January 2025. The selection process was conducted by Devavtar Choudhary, Secretary General of the CG Lacrosse Association, along with other officials.
Encouraging Participation and Recognition
Participants of the championship were felicitated for their dedication and efforts, highlighting NTPC’s commitment to recognizing and fostering talent in rural areas. This initiative underscores the company’s focus on empowering youth through sports and encouraging their active participation in prestigious competitions at both national and international levels.
