MUMBAI: An exhibition of products developed by Women Self Help groups was inaugurated by CEO – Zilaparishad Nathmal Dedail (IAS), Additional S. P. – Chittorgarh Rajendra Dushyant, Additional Director – DIC Aruna Sharma and AVP (Commercial) Nitin Jain at Hastshilp & Udhyog Mela 2017 in Chittorgarh. This five day event is an opportunity for women entrepreneur to demonstrate and sell products.
Wonder cement Ltd. has promoted 18 SHGs of 238 women to encourage their skills & talent. Women of all segment of society from 15 villages are engaged in SHG programme. These all SHGs are connected with nationalize bank for regular saving and further loan from bank. Few of them have been financed for small business or other income generation activities. Women are supported for selling their products & garments under the brand ‘Hunar’.
Training are provided to women on cloth stitching, woolen knitting through semi knitting machine, basic computer operating and Agarbatti making by semi-automatic machines by trained trainer at training centres, which are established in their villages. These women are making many products like woolen cloths (Socks, frock, sweater), Kurtas, salwar suits, incense sticks (Agarbatti) and different type of pickles & masala etc.
Sewing Training Centre is affiliated with Usha Sewing School, Gurgaon. This center provides free & specialized sewing training of six month to girls and women from age 18 – 35. So far 340 trainees have been trained and some of them have started commercial stitching work and this is adding additional income to their pocket.
