BARBIL: Like every year, this year also World Environment Day 2015 was celebrated at JSPL, Barbil Unit on 5th June to create awareness among employees, contract employees, children, housewives and surrounding community villages. Various competitions like slogan, posters, essay and online environment quiz were organized among the employees, contract employees, school children and housewives.
The Programme was started with a mass plantation in the nearby community village Deojhar with community people along with local sarpanch in the presence of esteem chief guest Dr. Sohan Giri (Regional Officer, Odisha State Pollution Control Board, Keonjhar), guest from SMPL V. K. S. Rathore (Sr.VP), P. Mohanta (AVP), B. B. Sahu (GM) and top management of JSPL V. C. S. Rao (VP), Alok Malhotra (GM, HR, P & A), Dr. R. C. Rout (GM-Environment, JSPL) of various local species of plant. During the Programme the enthusiastic villagers shows their huge interest in plant and planation.
In this glorious occasion in house environmental bulletin “Environmental Initiatives 2015” was released by chief guest and distributed to all employees followed by a meeting inside pellet plant area. In the evening session planation was carried out inside pellet plant area by senior officials of JSPL.
“Regional Officer, State Pollution Control Board and their team appreciated JSPL group because of the environmental initiatives taken without any compromising with the green universe such as Biogas plant (BARC Technology, Mumbai) for management of biodegradable waste generated from plant and colony areas, Bio digester (DRDO Technology, Mumbai) & Phytorid Concept (NEERI Technology, Nagpur) to treat the sewage & other proven technology. They also appreciated JSPL because of the best effort & positive contribution by our group where less emission from the plant process, zero discharge concepts, green belt development are highly concerned.”, JSPL said in the statement.
