Who is the Chairman of the Infosys Foundation?

After a successful career in public service, on December 31, 2021, Mrs. Sudha Murty stepped down from her role as the Chairperson of the Infosys Foundation.

Salil Parekh serves as both the Chairman of Infosys Foundation and the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Infosys Limited.


Salil Parekh is the CEO and Managing Director of a company, responsible for setting and evolving the strategic direction for the company and its portfolio of offerings, while nurturing a strong leadership team to drive its execution. Salil has nearly three decades of global experience in the IT services industry with a strong track record of driving digital transformation for enterprises, executing business turnarounds, and managing successful acquisitions. He is a member of the National Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The Chairman of the Infosys Foundation is responsible for leading the organization in its efforts to support and serve communities across India. This includes setting the strategic direction for the Foundation, overseeing the implementation of programs and initiatives, and ensuring that the Foundation’s resources are being used effectively and efficiently to make a positive impact on society.

Professional Experience

Salil was a member of the Group Executive Board at Capgemini for 25 years, where he held several leadership positions. He was responsible for overseeing a business cluster comprising Application Services (North America, UK, Asia), Cloud Infrastructure Services, and Sogeti (Technology & Engineering Services Division).
He was responsible for the strategy and execution of these businesses – setting direction and enabling rapid client adoption. He was also the Chairman of Capgemini’s North America Executive Council.

He was the architect of the North America growth and turnaround strategy, and was instrumental in setting up their offshoring capabilities. Salil was also Partner at Ernst & Young and widely credited for bringing scale and value to the Indian operations of the consultancy firm.

Education

Salil holds Master of Engineering degrees in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

Infosys Foundation

For 25 years, the Infosys Foundation has been dedicated to supporting communities across India. On December 31, 2021, Mrs. Sudha Murty retired as the Chairperson of the Foundation after a successful career in public service. Her selfless dedication to social causes and her tenure as the chairperson has left a lasting impact on the Foundation. The founders of Infosys, including Mrs. Murty, should be commended for their vision and contributions to the Foundation that have made such a significant impact.
