VridhCare, an organization committed to enhancing the lives of senior citizens in old age homes, recently organized a movie day out for 150 elderly members from 10 different facilities of old age homes on 14th February 2024. The event, the first of its kind in the history of VridhCare, aimed not only to entertain but also to fulfil the emotional and social needs of the seniors, aligning with their aim and Maslow’s need hierarchy theory.
The chosen movie for the occasion was “HanuMan, by Prasanth Varma“, a delightful cinematic experience that resonated with the diverse audience. For many of the seniors, this outing marked their inaugural visit to a movie theatre, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day.
The carefully planned event unfolded at India Cinepolis, where the seniors were not merely spectators but guests of honour. VridhCare left no stone unturned in ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for the elderly attendees. From transportation to the venue to ensure their comfort throughout the movie, every detail was meticulously taken care of by the dedicated VridhCare team.
The joyous atmosphere at the theatre was filled with laughter and an essence of delight in the eyes of the seniors as they immersed themselves in the magic of cinema. The choice of “HanuMan” as the featured film likely added a touch of nostalgia and cultural connection for the elderly audience.
VridhCare’s commitment to the well-being of senior citizens goes beyond providing physical care; it extends to creating meaningful and memorable experiences. This initiative not only brought immediate joy to the senior citizens but also had a positive impact on their mental well-being, fostering a sense of community and shared happiness.
By breaking new ground with this movie day out, VridhCare has set a precedent for future initiatives that prioritize the happiness and overall well-being of those who have dedicated their lives to nurturing younger generations. The organization’s dedication to making every moment count exemplifies its mission to create a world where the elderly are not just cared for but cherished and celebrated.
