Introduction
VFS Global, a global outsourcing and technology services company, has joined forces with Friends Union for Energising Lives (FUEL), a credible non-profit organization, to equip underprivileged girls with future-ready skills. Through training, internships, career support, and mentoring in JAVA and Artificial Intelligence, the Future Skills and Internship Programme aims to empower these girls and provide them with opportunities for a better future.
The Future Skills and Internship Programme
VFS Global has partnered with Friends Union for Energising Lives (FUEL), a non-profit organization, to help underprivileged girls acquire future-ready skills. FUEL provides training in JAVA and Artificial Intelligence, as well as internship opportunities, career support, and mentoring. Last week, 50 girls from underprivileged backgrounds completed the Future Skills and Internship Programme and received completion certificates.
Community building through skilling
VFS Global’s support of FUEL is in line with its focus on community building through skilling. In 2021, VFS Global donated around 60 desktops to the Future Skills Institute for FUEL, which will benefit over 1,500 students annually. This will help address the digital divide and contribute to India’s Digital India vision.
Empowering women with future skills
The participants in the programme were also given access to LinkedIn Learning and AMCAT certification. They also worked on live projects, which helped them develop their communication skills, decision-making ability, and confidence. The partnership is aligned with VFS Global’s global vision of community capacity building through skilling of youth, as well as its goal of empowering women with future skills and employment opportunities.

FUEL – Friends Union for Energising Lives, is a credible non-profit organization registered as a trust established in 2007 working in the fields of Skill Development, Career Counselling, and scholarships for disadvantaged youth of the nation under CSR initiative of various leading corporate. FUEL has trained over 88000 needy youth in futuristic skills and has guided 11 lakh students across India. FUEL has received appreciation from the Hon’ble Prime Minister and Hon’ble President of India for its commendable work over the years.
