Vedanta Organized Rural Cricket Tournament

LANJIGARH:  Vedanta Ltd partnered with the villagers of Kenduguda;a tribal dominated area in Lanjigarh for a Cricket Tournament where around 24 teams from nearby villages of Kalahandi and Rayagada participated.

The tournament started from 12th May and concluded today in the presence of dignitaries like Jagadish Benia-Vice Chairman Lanjigarh Panchayat Samiti,Biraja Sankar Mund-Powerplant Head ,Uddhab Majhi –Sarapanch Biswanathpur and Sidhartha Behera.

On the final day of the tournament Batilima team won the trophy by beating Hariharpur in 06 wickets.Winning the toss,Hariharpur bats first and got all out in a score of 42 .Later Batilima won in 09th over.

Rama Singh received the Man of the Series as well as Best Bowler , Gobinda as Best batsman cum Man of the series from the guests.

On this occasion K.K.Dave,COO Vedanta Ltd said” Vedanta Ltd has been trying to wards creating more quality players from the region and partnering with the local youths for the development of the Sports ;which is used as a medium of exchange of development and better relationship”

Maa Bhairabi Yuvak Snagh has organized the tournament and Bijay Samal-Secretary ,Danu Majhi-Youth President,Rajib Nag,Ugrasen Nag and Nilu were present.
