JHARSUGUDA: Vedanta Ltd. flagged off two water tankers which would supply drinking water to 11 municipal wards of Jharsuguda in its periphery as part of the company’s CSR programme. Collaborating District Administration and Jharsuguda Municipality, these tankers will supply 65,000 liters of drinking water to these wards, daily, till the end of June.
This drinking water is intended to reach 11 wards of Jharsuguda, which are traditionally water scarce areas like SarbahalSatnamipada, Industrial Estate, Hospital Road, Mahuatoli, BadheimundaRangiapada, Gourapada, near Railway School, Kabrastanpada, Talibhata, Itabhata, Narahari Colony, Mungapada and BTM NuaSahi.
Since 2013, Vedanta Ltd. partners with Jharsuguda Municipality every year to supplying drinking water to localities facing acute water shortage in summers, under the ambit of it CSR program. This service not only helps manage drinking water scarcity, but also reduces dependency on unhygienic and unreliable water sources.
