JHARSUGUDA: Vedanta has launched yet another of their CSR initiatives at Jharsuguda in the form of e-literacy program inaugurated today at Debadihi High School here. Vedanta’s e-literacy program run by Vedanta Foundation is a successful initiative across the country connecting thousands of rural youth to the age of computers and creating equitable opportunities for them.
An MoU was signed today between Sesa Sterlite (formerly Vedanta), Jharsuguda, Vedanta Foundation which provided the critical center development and program support and Debadihi High School signifying the launch of the program at the school ,which will not only facilitate e-learning for the students of the school but also for the rural youth through certified computer programs to aid their career prospects.
Present on the occasion were Mr. Arabinda Pani, senior management representative; Mr. Debashis Chakraborty, Regional Manager, Vedanta Foundation; Mr. Vargil Lakra, Head CSR ; Mr. Ratnakar Pradhan, President, Debadihi School Management Committee and Mr. Gautam Pandey , Headmaster of the school. Mr. Ratnakar Pradhan lauded the efforts of Vedanta for its educational initiatives like Vedanta Vidyarthi Vikas Yojana and expressed hope that the program will go a long way in shaping the future of the school children and rural youths. Present were more than 300 students as well as their parents and villagers who witnessed and supported the event.
