Uno Minda Limited, a leading global supplier of advanced automotive solutions, has named Ravi Mehra as its new Managing Director, effective April 1, 2025. This announcement marks a pivotal moment for the company, blending seasoned leadership with fresh perspectives as it strengthens its Board of Directors. Rooted in innovation and a people-first approach, Uno Minda is positioning itself for a dynamic future, balancing operational excellence with sustainable growth.
Mehra’s appointment highlights a journey of dedication and expertise. With over 30 years at Uno Minda, he has been instrumental in transforming the company into a trusted partner for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) worldwide. Now, as he steps into the top role, employees and stakeholders alike are eager to see how his vision will shape the company’s next chapter.
A New Leadership Structure
Uno Minda is redefining its governance model by splitting the roles of Chairman and Managing Director. Nirmal Kumar Minda, a stalwart in the automotive industry, will transition to Executive Chairman. In this capacity, he’ll focus on steering the company’s long-term strategy while nurturing its workforce. “Our goal is to build a resilient, sustainable organization,” Minda said. “Ravi’s leadership, paired with our revamped Board, will propel us forward.”
Ravi Mehra, a chartered accountant and company secretary, brings a wealth of experience to the helm. Since joining Uno Minda in 1995, he has driven financial discipline and operational innovation, earning him the trust of the Board and employees. His promotion signals continuity and ambition as the company eyes global expansion.
A Diverse and Dynamic Board
Alongside Mehra’s appointment, Uno Minda has welcomed four new Board members, each bringing unique expertise. Shekar Viswanathan, an Independent Director, joins with a stellar 40-year career, including his tenure as Vice Chairman of Toyota Kirloskar Motors. His insights into automotive trends will be invaluable.
Abhay Damle, another Independent Director, offers a governmental perspective. A retired Indian Revenue Service officer, he has shaped policies at the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Meanwhile, Paridhi Minda and Pallak Minda, appointed as Non-Executive Directors, bring entrepreneurial flair and deep ties to the Uno Minda legacy since 2001.
