Movie on inspiring life and contributions to nation of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was released in the year 1999-2000, but after various RTI interventions by Rusen Kumar, it was shown on Doordarshan last year in various other languages.

RAIPUR: Public broadcasters Doordarshan (DD) has not scheduled Dr Ambedkar feature film in its channels on his 126 birth day, Friday, 14 April, 2017. Rusen Kumar, a social entrepreneur and founder of India CSR Network has demanded to air the movie in all the channels of DD National in various languages.
Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar (1891-1965) is the globally acclaimed thinker, jurist, economist, politician and great social reformer and has given incomparable contribution to development of Nation. He was first law minister and the principal architect of the Constitution of India.
“Such a great personality and social icon deserves much public recognition. This can be achieved through propagation and dissemination of his inspiring messages and by keeping public well aware of his contributions to the nation.”, Rusen Kumar said.
On the 126th Birth Anniversary of Dr Ambedkar, United Nations (UN) is celebrating it by focusing on the empowerment of the poor and the marginalised using information and communication technologies (ICT) to achieve the UN’s sustainable development goals.
The movie, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, is available in eight different languages English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujarati and Oriya. A copy of this movie is readily available with the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and its distribution rights are also with this ministry itself.
Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar (Movie) was the national film awards for best feature film in English and Best art direction in 1999 directed by Jabbar Patel. The role of Ambedkar was played by Malayalam actor Mammootty. He won the National Film award for best actor that year.
Rusen Kumar said, “This movie acknowledges the great contributions of Dr. Ambedkar, to propel his life learning and messages, so that Dr. Ambedkar is always remembered for his life time contributions.”
“It was extremely unfortunate that this movie is not scheduled to aired even on Dr. Ambedkar’s 126 th birth anniversary (April 14, 2017)!”, Rusen Kumar added.
This movie is extremely motivating and encouraging. It is a very significant movie about India that covers various aspects related to social, economic and political scenario of pre Independent and modern India.
Rusen Kumar demanded from the Government that this movie to be mandatorily broadcasted on various national occasions and holidays such as Republic Day, Independence Day, Dr. Ambedkar’s birthday etc. So that India can watch it and get inspired from his noble contribution.
