New Delhi – Tata Trusts under the initiative of ‘India Health Fund’ (IHF) has announced ‘Malaria Quest’, a nationwide search for innovations towards eliminating the mosquito-borne disease.
The project focuses on innovative technologies to strengthen surveillance by providing accurate estimates of disease burden, data-based decision making and risk-prediction, IANS reported.
The purpose of the project includes developing innovative methods of vector control, personal protection for enhancing current strategies, improving logistical modalities and quality assurance of malaria consumables.
IHF through Malaria Quest aims at detecting the cases of malaria, both in high and low endemic regions.
Applications from interested candidates will be accepted till 2019 (2 Sep), the report said.
Selected applications stand to receive wide support, including milestone-based funding support for validation, beta prototyping, feasibility studies and pilot introduction as applicable, the report further said.
