NEW DELHI: The Taj Mahal is considered one of the most iconic architectural structures in the world. Built in the 17th century, it is a testament to the love and devotion of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. This magnificent building is a symbol of eternal love and an architectural wonder.

It is situated in the northern Indian city of Agra and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Taj Mahal is visited by millions of tourists every year, and it is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. How to reach Agra?

There are several ways to reach Agra:

By Air: Agra has its own airport, the Agra Airport (AGR), which is well connected to major cities in India such as Delhi, Varanasi and Khajuraho by regular flights.

By Train: Agra is well connected by rail with major cities in India such as Delhi, Jaipur, and Mumbai. The city has three railway stations: Agra Cantonment, Agra Fort, and Raja Ki Mandi.

By Bus: Agra is well connected by road with major cities in India such as Delhi, Jaipur, and Gwalior. There are several state-run and private bus services available from these cities to Agra.

By Car: Agra is well connected by road to major cities in India, and one can easily reach Agra by driving or hiring a car.

It is highly recommended to plan your trip in advance and be aware of the local transportation options and schedule to make sure you can reach Agra comfortably and on time.

What season is the best time to visit the Taj Mahal?

The best time to visit the Taj Mahal is during the cooler months between October and March. The weather is pleasant during these months, and the crowds are relatively low. The temperatures during this period range between 15-25 °C (59-77°F) which makes it comfortable to explore the city and visit the Taj Mahal.

During the summer months from April to June, the temperatures can soar to over 40°C (104°F) and it can be quite hot and uncomfortable to visit the Taj Mahal. The monsoon season from July to September also sees high humidity and occasional rainfall which can make it difficult to explore the city and visit the Taj Mahal.

It’s worth noting that the Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays, so if you’re planning to visit on a Friday, you’ll have to plan your trip accordingly. Also, during the peak tourist season, the Taj Mahal can get quite crowded, so it’s best to arrive early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the crowds.
