Synchrony Financial contributes Rs. 50,00,000/- (Rupees Fifty Lakhs) to Hyderabad City Police for the Installation of Community CCTV Surveillance System for improved public safety, security & quality of life

HYDERABAD: Synchrony Financial, a premier consumer financial services company with an 80 year heritage, entered into an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, to adopt communities in Hyderabad City by spending an amount of Rs. 50,00,000 (Rupees Fifty Lakhs only) for installation of a community closed circuit television (CCTV) surveillance system at Chandrayangutta Police Station and Falaknuma Police Station in Hyderabad.
The MOU was signed by M. Mahendar Reddy, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad and Kurt Grossheim, EVP & Chief Operating Officer, Synchrony Financial,in the presence of Faisal Uddin, Sr. Vice President and Business Leader, Synchrony Financial India, V V Srinivas Rao, Addl. Commissioner of Police, (L&O) and Murali Krishna, Addl. Commissioner of Police (Admin),along with other senior leaders from Synchrony Financial.This MOU represents the strong relationship between Synchrony Financial and the Hyderabad City Police, due in part to their shared belief of striving to improve and provide outstanding service to the community.
The CCTV-based video surveillance system will involve setting up of IP-based outdoor security surveillance cameras across various locations in Hyderabad. It will incorporate the latest technology and encompass a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre for 24×7 monitoring of CCTV cameras. Synchrony Financial, along with Hyderabad Police,will jointly install and maintain the CCTV based outdoor surveillance system for the next five years.
The surveillance will map two jurisdictions, including Chandrayangutta Police Station(which covers 5300 Mts) and Falaknuma Police Station(which covers 8200Mts) in Hyderabad. The surveillance network,which is being set up with the purpose of helping to control crime in the city,will comprise of 64 CCTVs (32 in each PS jurisdiction), Automatic Number Plate Recognition System (ANPR), Video Analytics, Mobile Surveillance System, Command Control Centre and Data Centre,etc.
The CCTV security systems will be strategically placed to monitor key areas such as building entrances, street corners, elevators, and equipment rooms.Several vital installations will be mapped round-the-clock through IP-based outdoor surveillance cameras. The CCTV cameras technology will act as a force multiplier and help in checking crime and violation of traffic rules.
The Hyderabad City Police department has taken the initiative to involve corporations like Synchrony Financial to adopt communities in terms of police stations and sponsor the implementation of the CCTV surveillance system in the city.

In addition to the community CCTV surveillance system project, Synchrony Financial India, with almost half of its employee population being female,has been actively working with the police department to successfully implement initiatives like She shuttle service in Cyberabad. This local bus service safely transports female employees.
Synchrony Financial also developed customized modules on people-friendly policing for officers to act as effective catalysts for improving the safety in the city and enable a positive dialogue between people and police department.
