First deployment planned for captive fleet

In partnership with vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland and other technical partners, Reliance has been engaged in the development of this unique technology for the past year. The first engines have been running since early 2022. The company now plans to extensively test and validate the technology before its first commercial deployment. The first deployment is planned for Reliance’s captive fleet. They will be scaling the technology across India in the near future.

Creating Hydrogen Fueling Network

In line with its Net Carbon Zero vision, the company is also pursuing the opportunity to create an end-to-end hydrogen ecosystem for mobility. This will include the development of a hydrogen supply chain and infrastructure. It is also expected to create a hydrogen fueling network. By doing so, the company aims to make hydrogen a viable alternative to conventional fuels and help India transition to a more sustainable future.

Conclusion

The unveiling of the H2ICE technology solution for heavy duty trucks marks a significant step forward in the development of greener mobility solutions in India. It is a testament to the company’s commitment to sustainability and its role as a leader in the transition to a low-carbon future.
