JHARSUGUDA: A felicitation ceremony was conducted by Subhalaxmi Bahumukhee Mahila Samabaya Limited, Jharsuguda, a co-operative promoted by Vedanta Limited, Jharsuguda under its CSR initiative, to award the meritorious students of HSC examination 2017 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jharsuguda on the July 7, 2017.
On the occasion, a total of 42 students from three intervention blocks of Subhalaxmi Cooperative in District Jharsuguda were been awarded scholarships worth Rs 1.8 lakh for their higher education, by Subhalaxmi Cooperative through its Kalyan fund.
Out of 42 students, three students secured A2 grade, 18 students and 21 students secured B1 and B2 respectively. Since the inception of this program in 2013-14, Subhalaxmi Cooperative has supported a total of 143 meritorious students to pursue their higher education through this scholarship program under Subhalaxmi Kalyan Fund with a total scholarship worth Rs. 3.58 lakh.
Gracing the event as the Chief Guest was Mina Rani Mangal (District Program Coordinator Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Jharsuguda). Also present were Dr. Manoj Behera (Sr. Scientist KVK, Jharsuguda), Sanjeev Kr Patnaik (Head, PR, Vedanta Ltd, Jharsuguda), Nishant Kumar (Head CSR, Vedanta Ltd) and Mrs Puspanjali Seth, (President, Subhalaxmi Cooperative).
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Mina Rani Mangal praised this unique initiative by Subhalsxmi and wished that these awardees act as motivators for the upcoming batches to perform well.
Pushpanjali Seth congratulated the students and wished them success in their future endeavors. The parents of the recipients were profuse in their appreciation of Vedanta Limited for having provided their children with a fighting chance to pursue higher education and a chance to have a better education life.
The program was coordinated by Satyanarayan Das, CEO, Subhalaxmi Cooperative and the administration team. Also present on the occasion were Board of Directors and Staff of Subhalaxmi Cooperative, Team CSR and PR of Vedanta Limited, Jharsuguda and the proud parents of successful students from three Blocks of Jharsuguda.
