PUNE: Samagra Empowerment Foundation, a non-profit organization, announces the inclusion of Rusen Kumar, Founder and Managing Editor of India CSR Network, as a new member to its Advisory Board. He joined the Samagra’s Board on July 8, 2018.
Pune based, 4 year old, Samagra is a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation supported impact enterprise dedicated to providing sanitation and other life-improving services to the poor and marginalized. Samagra is led by Ashoka Fellow, Swapnil Chaturvedi, and has won several Awards for its work. Grand Challenges Canada and FICCI Millennium Alliance have also supported Samagra for its ground-breaking work in sanitation.
In addition to the matters related to forming a solid foundation for sound Corporate Governance at Samagra, the Advisory Board provides support and counseling with respect to developing a comprehensive growth strategy for Samagra to facilitate services delivery in the various part of country and enable Samagra in accomplishing its goal of impacting over 100 Million urban poor in the next 10 years.
Rusen Kumar is the Founder and managing editor of India CSR Network (www.indiacsr.in), a decade old organization working in the area of promotion of corporate social responsibility in India. He is a knowledge entrepreneur and is known as CSR think tank in India. He has been conferred with the prestigious CSR Person of the Year Award at an international forum for his outstanding contribution to the promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in India.
Rusen Kumar brings an understanding of governance, leadership development and strategic focus from not only serving on for profit and not-for-profit boards but also serving as an advisor toseveral chief executive officers and executive management members. His leadership accomplishments in social enterprise, planning and governance range from viable achievements in knowledge forum initiatives to advancement of corporate social responsibility issues in India.
