Bengaluru: Striving to recognise excellence in CSR and Sustainability, ASSOCHAM Southern Region conferred it’s Social Impact Maker 2021 to Dr. Shanbhogue VS. for his contribution as CSR Guru India at its annual ASSOCHAM CSR & Sustainability Summit & Awards held on Feb 24 on Bengaluru. The Award was presented to him by Honorable CN Aswath Narayana, Minister IT Minister of Information Technology – Biotechnology, Higher Education, Science and Technology of Karnataka.
Rtn. Dr. Shanbhogue is a practicing CSR Consultant facilitating Corporates to carry on CSR activities in the true spirit of National Interest. Practicing advocate and legal consultant with the High Court of Karnataka. He is also a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Management-CSR from Einstein International University (DE) Florida, U.S.A.
As an integral part of the Social Action Cell of Canara Bank, Corporate office, his experience includes administration of Hospital, Orphanage and Old age Home under Canara Bank Relief & Welfare Society, Jubilee education fund (Scholarship loans), Rural Development, Training Centre for rural artisans and various Social activities ranging from on-going voluntary blood donation to protect environment campaign.
A seasoned professional with more than thirty-six years of experience in the area of banking including Asset Recovery Management, Foreign Exchange, Social Action and CSR with a leading Public Sector Bank apart from a broad spectrum of banking areas.
Being the member and Office-bearer of various organisations for more than thirty years have been involved in many community projects and have attended many national and International Conferences and seminars and presented papers on various connected subjects and have traveled in many countries in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, U.K. South African, North and Latin American countries.
We had the presence of B V Naidu Chairman, ASSOCHAM SMARTecIndia Initiative & South Region Development Council & Managing Partner StartupXseed Ventures & Founder & Chairman, The Gain. He emphasized the collaboration between corporate, government and civil society for CSR projects. He also mentioned that the alignment of the CSR projects with SDGs 2030 is the way forward.
Also present at the event were Abhishek Ranjan, Chair, ASSOCHAM CSR & Sustainability Committee, Southern Region who laid emphasis on the integration of CSR & Sustainability and how ESG is driving business leaders today to create impact in the society.
Shalini Rajneesh IAS, ACS, Government of Karnataka highlighted the Government of Karnataka’s initiative “AKANKSHA”, an integrated platform for the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and CSR Alignment.
