VISAKHAPATNAM: A. P. Choudhary, CMD, RINL, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant distributed tricycles to the poor families belonging to differently abled at a function organized by Hindustan Steel works Construction Ltd (HSCL) on 29 Oct 2011 near VSP’s Project office premises.
HSCL sponsored the distribution of tricycles to 40 families in association with “Association of Rural Development and Action Research” (ARDAR) an NGO under Corporate Social Responsibility programme. Malay Chatterjee, CMD, HSCL was present and also distributed tricycles to the beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Choudhary lauded the HSCL Chairman’s commendable initiative of launching CSR programme in Visakhapatnam in order to enhance living
standards of the poor and differently abled families in the rural areas.
He said RINL is earmarking 2% of distributable profit towards CSR programmes and initiated several measures to help the society at large. Mr Choudhary appreciated HSCL for launching the programme in Visakhapatnam despite no profits.
Mr. Malay Chatterjee, CMD, HSCL said the Company is coming in a big way to organize many programmes under CSR and expressed happiness to launch such programme in South particularly in Visakhapatnam.
Mr Chatterjee thanked VSP management for its continuous support to HSCL right from the beginning.
M Bhadhuri, Director (Finance), HSCL, Shiv Raj Singh, CVO, HSCL, Dr V Ramana, Director, ARDAR, an NGO and large number of employees participated. Later, the dignitaries planted saplings to mark the occasion.
Joy and satisfaction prevailed on the faces of the poor families when the beneficiaries received the tricycles which will give them a livelihood.
