NEW DELHI: REC signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today with Smile Foundation for rendering primary health services for a period of over 3 years, to underprivileged rural population of Rae Bareili, Uttar Pradesh in the presence of the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia. CMD of REC, Shri Rajeev Sharma, and other senior officials from Ministry of Power and REC were also present on the occasion.
Under this CSR initiatives, Mobile Health vans shall provide services to the people residing in targeted villages in the areas of reproductive and child health including antenatal care to ensure safe motherhood and general health care services along with linkages to nearby government health institutions, private clinics, nursing home, health centers.
On this occasion the Minister congratulated REC and Smile Foundation for undertaking this important initiative for the benefit of rural poor. He also extended his best wishes for the success of the program.

Smile Foundation is a national level development organization currently reaching out to more than 200,000 children and youth directly through 185 welfare projects on the issues of education, healthcare, livelihood, women empowerment and advocacy across 25 states of India.
