NIRWAH- The CSR Magazine of JPL inaugurated by Collector Raigarh Mr. Amit Kataria
RAIGARH (Chhattisgarh): Jindal Power Limited (JPL) has set up India’s first mega power project in the private sector – the 1000 MW thermal power plant at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. The Company has invested approximately Rs. 4338 crore for setting up a 1000 MW power plant. From the year 2005, ‘O P Jindal Samaj Kalyan Samiti’ of Jindal Power Ltd Tamnar is taking care of his social responsibility. Jindal Power. Company is expanding its capacity at Tamnar by setting up a 2400 MW thermal power plant at an estimated cost of Rs 13,410 crore.
To improve the living standard of the communities and developing self dependency on women the committee is organizing many income generation activities with the co-operation of self –help groups. On the continuation of this they have formed 85 nos. of self help groups, giving them training and financial support and connecting them to income generation activities.
A exhibition and demonstration is organized for these SHG’s to exhibit their hand made products in the plant campus of JPL.
In this exhibition they demonstrated best quality of rise grains, Ground nut, mole, Mushroom, Mushroom Pickle, Plate and Bowl made by leaves, Pickle, wafers, Soft toys, Bread and other bakery items, Candle lights, other food products like mixture, Chana-murra etc. which was produced by their selves.
Most important part of this exhibition was demonstrating traditional items like Gerua, traditional mop and traditional rops made by tribal species ‘BIRHOR’. Birhor is the tribal species which is near to obsolescent.
The exhibition is perused by District Collector Mr Amit Kataria. Mr Kataria appreciated the exhibition and products that exhibited. Mr Kataria told that it is on of the good initiative towards economical development of communities and country which is taken by Jindal Power Ltd.
In this occasion the magazine ‘Nirwah’ also inaugurated by collector. Nirwah is the magazine based on dedication and commitment to entrepreneur adventures of youths, women and farmers. This magazine is a collection of successful examples of subsistence. These examples are collected on ground level and published as a magazine by CSR team of Jindal Power Ltd. This is to provide inspiration to local people so that they involve their selves to income generation activities and improve their living standard along with social and communal development.
This programme was also graced by the presence of Superintendent of Police Dr. Anand Chhabara, Distt Forest Officer Mr C. L. Agrawal, Additional Collector Mr S. K. Sharma, Executive Director (Project) Mr P. P. Singh, Executive Director JPL Mr S. B. Agarwal, Executive Director JSPL Mr N. A. Ansari, SDM Ghadghoda Mr A. K. Vaishnav, CEO DRDA Raigarh Mr Dhruv, GM (HR & Admin) Mr Ravishankar, Mr D. K. Bhargava, Mr Subodh Singh, Mr Rajesh Sagar (CSR), Mr D K Saxena and HODs of several departments.
Entire CSR Team was obliging to all honorable guests.
