Dear Readers,
I am pleased to inform you that PwC has come out with a comprehensive “Handbook on Corporate Social Responsibility in India”. The handbook was released at the inaugural session of CII CSR-CSO Bridge conference that was held at the Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 2nd December, 2013.
Book is very useful and relevant for the CSR professional, practitioner, academicians, authors, researchers, journalist, business though leaders, media, Public Relations, Corporate Communication professionals, CA, CA Students, MBA Students etc.
This Handbook begins by building a common understanding of the concept of CSR, based on global practices, Indian tradition, and the intent and provisions of the Companies Act, 2013. It goes on to bring out the key aspects of clause 135 of the Companies Act, 2013 and the recently released draft rules, and highlights its implications to companies.
A major part of the Handbook focuses on the ‘what’ and ‘how’ of strategising, planning, executing and monitoring the CSR activities of companies. It provides a detailed guidance (rather than prescriptions) for each of the related processes. The Handbook also deals with small and medium enterprises, some of whom will be required to comply with the Act, can do collectively.
