NEW DELHI: Sharing thoughts on World Photography Day, Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO, Canon India said, “Photography is an incredible expression of art. It is a creative language that speaks the story of generations.” August 19 is being celebrated at World Photography Day.
“We have been promoting the landscape of imaging in the country, since last two decades and over the years we have witnessed an increasing interest in photography. Novel camera technology is making it an exciting time for amateurs as well as professional photographers.”, he said.
“At Canon India, we consider it our responsibility to take the remarkable world of imaging closer to our audience. This World Photography Day, we are further strengthening our outreach of customer connect with theme based workshops and contests.”, he further added.

Over the years, Canon has been spreading the knowledge of imaging among the audience, through several platforms including Canon Photomarathon, EOS Nation Seminars, Photography Workshops and Roadshows.
Canon’s Image Square stores spread across the country, have intensified the brands retail expansion, providing an informative and engaging experience to customers. Continuing its endeavor of promoting the culture of imaging across the country, the imaging leader organized a series of activities and workshops, to encourage enthusiasts to indulge in creative excellence on World Photography Day.
In the Southern region of the country, Canon India is connecting with the photography enthusiasts of Infosys Limited Bangalore, wherein a photo walk would be held within their campus premises, later to be followed by a photography quiz and photo contest for the employees.
- A series of photography workshops are being organized at education institutes like The Allura Festival at St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Bengaluru. A ‘Click and Print’ workshop with students at The Cambridge School, Bengaluru is being organized to provide them an experience of Canon technology, including cameras and printers and educate them on the nuances of clicking and printing.
In the Western states, numerous workshops are being organized at the Canon Image Square stores. A wedding photography workshop by renowned photographer, Pritesh Rao is being organized in the region. Raigad Photographer & Videographer Association is also organizing a similar wedding photography workshop for shutterbugs in Alibaug.
As part of a Photowalk in Goa, the streets of the beachy city would be filled with photographers to discover and capture the picturesque architecture of the region.
In the North, Photography Workshops are being organized at leading institutes and Photography clubs, Corporate houses, along with seven leading colleges of Delhi and Chandigarh, Photo talks and photography competitions are being held at School/ Universities. Also complimentary workshops are being organized at CIS stores in north.
- The celebrations would extend with a Photography workshop for school students, being organized at Canon India Corporate office on the 24thAugust.
Canon will also be organizing external engagement programs such as a Photography workshop in the East in addition to participating in the Kolkata Photo Festival. Focusing on internal engagement, there is a ‘Click and Print activity’ for the employees with their families. Moments captured during this celebration will be handed over to them in the form of print outs.
These workshops and photo walks are being organized to acknowledge the art of photography and bring customers closer to Canon’s world of imaging.
