HYDERABAD: The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd, Rajahmundry Asset, has roped in Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) to help formulate and facilitate composite corporate social responsibility initiatives.
In a statement, the national oil company said a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Monday as part of which the premier institute would conduct baseline survey/needs assessment in ONGC’s operational areas. Apart from identifying specific and need-based CSR projects to be undertaken, the exercise by TISS will conduct an impact assessment study for such projects.
Signing the MoU for ONGC, Asset manager (officiating) A. Satyanarayana said the company wanted to intensify its developmental projects in Krishna, East and West Godavari districts with professional support from the National CSR Hub at TISS. ONGC, he said, was undertaking community development programmes much before CSR became a buzzword.
