NEC Corporation India, supported Hunar Foundation through CSR funding for Project Swabhiman and NDLM Centre set-up and started in Noida in 2018. It is a collaboration between NASSCOM Foundation and NEC Technologies India Private Limited.
These programs are aimed at enabling the Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. The programs have experienced great success even amidst the pandemic by enhancing livelihood opportunities through online training programs.

NEC has joined hands with Hunar foundation and supported them through CSR funding for Project Swabhiman to uplift Women Entrepreneurs from the slums of Vijay Nagar, Ghaziabad and providing support for better livelihood for these women, thereby reducing gender inequality and improving their living standard. It has been 4 years since NEC embarked on this journey and the impact until today has been overwhelming. The program has touched the lives of 1227 women, with 228 women trained, 78 women offered better livelihoods and created and connected 45 Orders and Market.
NEC’s CSR projects are championing the causes of skilling India, one of them being The Digital Literacy Training Centre which aligned to the Government of India’s vision of making one person in each household in the country digitally literate by 2020. This is towards enabling a digital ecosystem where usage of technology is part and parcel of everyday life across India.
