MUMBAI: MicroTech Global Foundation (MTGF), a non-profit organization steadfastly engaged in the use of technology for the promotion of the welfare of Indians, today honored the student fraternity by awarding the best innovations in the fields of security, technology and mobile applications. The three month long ‘Micro Innovation League’ competition for students culminated in the Grand Finale today at Vashi, Navi Mumbai.
Micro Innovation League is a major initiative of Micro Tech Global Foundation. The competition started off in right earnest on our ‘National Technology Day’ on May 11, 2012. After receiving an overwhelming response last year, this year’s response from the student fraternity has been equally encouraging.
MIL is organized with the aim of bringing awareness among the people of the technological advances in the country and motivates younger generation in particular to participate in the success of technological innovations. It is an important technology competition designed to develop closer interactions between two vital arms of the society namely the academia and the industry.
MIL achieved its main objective of reaching out to budding technologists and rewarding them for their creative skills in their areas of specialization.
CONTEST
The ‘Micro Innovation League – II’ competitions began in the month of April 2013. Students from across the nation participated in the well-fought contest by presenting creative innovations relevant to the society. Two teams qualified for the final round and were invited for showcasing their innovations.
The contestants were adjudged by an eminent panel of judges that included Dr. R. Rajaram (Eminent Scientist), Dr. Surya Prakash Sharma, Ex- Zonal Manager, Bank of India, Mr. Milind Londhe (CCO, Micro Technologies (INDIA) Ltd & an active member of MTGF) & Mr. Aneesh Suresh (Project Coordinator, MTGF). They presented the awards to the winners in various categories. Dr. Rajaram briefed on initiatives by Micro Tech Global Foundation and exhorted the students to take active part in various activities hosted by MTGF. Dr. Sharma thanked the students for their excellent innovation and urged them to participate in MIL Competition every year in large numbers. Four Teams were selected for the Final Round at the Grand Finale. The students from these teams presented their creations before an appreciative audience.
