NEW DELHI: Lupin foundation has announced the first Desh Bandhu Gupta Memorial Lecture to be held on 26 Jun (Wednesday) at the India International Centre in New Delhi.
Former Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu, Former Union Minister for Agriculture Sompal Shastri and Former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh are likely to be present during the event whose underlying theme will be ‘rural development’. The foundation will also be felicitating achievers from the rural parts of India.
The event will start with the inauguration and introduction by Sita Ram Gupta, Executive, Lupin Foundation.
Desh Bandhu Gupta was an Indian philanthropist, entrepreneur and founder of Lupin Limited– a multinational pharmaceutical company. He founded Lupin in 1968 with a start-up capital of INR 5000.
The Lupin Foundation was established in 1988. Among other things the foundation works in rural areas on several social initiatives to create sustainable livelihood for the people.
