NEW DELHI: Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) has been conferred ‘The FICCI CSR Award’ for Women Empowerment at of FICCI CSR Summit and Awards held at New Delhi. JSPL won this prestigious award for its innovative and high impact women empowerment programmes, implemented the Company’s CSR Arm JSPL Foundation, across its operational areas in India.
Director, JSPL and the Co-Chairperson of JSPL Foundation Shallu Jindal received the award from Honorable Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu at a glittering function held in Delhi today.
Upon receiving the Award Smt Shallu Jindal, said, “JSPL Foundation is immensely thankful to FICCI and the learned Jury members for this national level award and recommits itself for sustainable women empowerment programmes.”
JSPL has been selected for this award after successfully completing 3-tier selection-process, which includes on site assessment by the independent assessors and Independent Jury Round.
As the CSR Arm of Jindal Steel & Power, the JSPL Foundation has been executing multidimensional development programmes in the areas of health, education, skill building, livelihood promotion and sports, enhancing the Quality of Life of more than 6.4 lakh women on sustainable basis in Angul, Keonjhar and Sundergarh districts of Odisha, Ramgarh and West Singhbhum districts of Jharkhand and Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh and other parts of India .
JSPL’s Flagship programme ‘Kishori Express’ programmes has been highly successful in controlling anemia among 50000 adolescent girls in Angul District of Odisha and is set to be replicated in in Nuh district of Haryana under the ‘Transformation of Aspirational Districts’
