ANGUL: Jindal Steel & Power Ltd has been awarded for its successful collaboration projects in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by Odisha CSR Forum.
The award has been presented by Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education Dr. Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy in presence of District Collector of Ganjam Prem Chandra Chaudhary during the ‘Environment & CSR Summit – 2015’, organised by the Forum. JSPL’s Vice-President (Corp. Comm) Prashant Kumar Hota, AGM (CSR) Nilendu Chatterjee and Manager (CSR) Ashutosh received the award.
Congratulating the CSR team, location Head and Executive Director of JSPL, DK Saraogi said, “Collaboration with community and Government Organisation helps in maximizing the reach and impact of our CSR Initiatives. I am thankful to Odisha CSR Forum for recognizing our effort”
JSPL has been recognized for its successful partnership projects like Kishori Express and Watershed Management Programme. Under the Kishori Express programme – that is run in collaboration with National Health Mission, ICDS and Zilla Swasthya Samiti – a customized mobile health vehicle that moves in 321 villages of two blocks (Chhendipada and Banarpal) Angul district to disseminate services pertaining to Adolescent Girls Anemia Control.
The Watershed management programme is being run in partnership with NABARD, benefitting 1783 households across 5 villages. For the first time in Odisha, a corporate organization has collaborated with NABARD for watershed management activities. Convener of Odisha CSR Forum BK Mishra appreciated the collaborative approach of JSPL.
